Job overview

As a Technical Product Owner, you will serve as the bridge between the business stakeholders and the development team, responsible for defining, coordinating and prioritizing the technical requirements and features of the product. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to ensure the successful delivery of high-quality technical solutions that meet customer needs and business objectives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work closely with business stakeholders to understand product goals, user needs, and market requirements.
  • Define and communicate the product vision and roadmap, aligning with strategic objectives and customer priorities.
  • Gather, prioritize, and document technical requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria.
  • Translate business requirements into actionable tasks and technical specifications for the development team.
  • Maintain and prioritize the product backlog, ensuring that it reflects the most valuable and high-priority items.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to refine and groom backlog items, ensuring clarity, feasibility, and alignment with business goals.
  • Plan and coordinate product releases, working with development teams to define release scope, timelines, and deliverables.
  • Ensure that release plans are communicated effectively to stakeholders and that releases are delivered on time and within budget.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including development, design, quality assurance, and marketing, to ensure successful product delivery.
  • Facilitate communication and alignment between stakeholders and development teams, addressing questions, concerns, and dependencies.
  • Provide technical guidance and expertise to development teams, helping to resolve technical challenges and make informed decisions.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies related to the product domain.
  • Work with QA teams to define test plans, acceptance criteria, and quality standards for product features.
  • Participate in testing activities to ensure that delivered features meet quality expectations and functional requirements.
  • Gather user feedback and insights through usability testing, surveys, and analytics.
  • Use feedback to iterate on product features, prioritize enhancements, and improve the overall user experience.

Desired qualifications and attributes

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or related field. Master’s degree preferred.
  • Proven experience as a Technical Product Owner or similar role, preferably in a software development environment.
  • Strong understanding of agile methodologies, such as Scrum, Kanban, and SAFe.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Solid technical background with proficiency in software development concepts, technologies, and tools.
  • Experience with product management tools such as Jira, Trello, or Asana.
  • Certification in product management is a plus.
